The Dogo Argentino does need need to meet AKC/UKC Standards to be a great pet and hunter. The Standard is for the show ring only. Standard says black spot/pigment cannot cover more than 10% of head. Spots can only be on the head. Anywhere else on the body it is considered a fault. There are multiple other disqualification but as I stated if you are buying a pet or a hunter then you shouldn't be concerned with breed standard.
